General Bio
Grace Shim is an education entrepreneur, curriculum designer, and currently serves as the Director of Outreach at Sigma Education. Having lived and learned across Korea, China, the Philippines, and the United States, Grace brings a rare global perspective to her work- both in how she connects with students and how she designs learning experiences that matter.
At Sigma, she leads marketing strategy, content creation, and customer engagement efforts to ensure that families receive not only accurate information but also genuine guidance. As the first point of contact for many of our students and parents, Grace combines educational insight with storytelling to help them navigate the journey of U.S. college admissions with confidence and clarity.
Her passion for education began early, shaped by her own questions growing up: "What kind of learning truly changes a person’s life?" As she mentored children and youth across different ages- from elementary to college- she realized that helping students discover their true selves was more important than helping them simply perform. That realization led her to pursue a master’s degree in Education Entrepreneurship at the University of Pennsylvania.
There, she solidified her belief that education is not just about academic excellence, but about building resilience, curiosity, communication, and the ability to stand back up after failure. She now channels these insights into her own venture, Young CEO Lab, an English-based entrepreneurship program that empowers children to lead their own learning journeys and believe that they can shape the world around them.
