This program offers fun, hands-on veterinary camps for students ages 10 to 17 dreaming of careers as veterinarians, veterinary technicians, scientists, or animal care professionals. Led by MSU College of Veterinary Medicine professors with assistance from current veterinary students serving as counselors, the camps provide interactive labs where you'll explore real-life aspects of veterinary medicine, from animal anatomy and microbiology to radiology and beyond, engaging all your senses as you experience the field from a veterinarian's perspective. Available as one-day, three-day, or five-day overnight camps based on age, MSU Vet Camp lets you discover the many career paths available in veterinary medicine, including small and large animal care, public health, pathology, research, and rehabilitation, while working in settings like clinics, laboratories, shelters, wildlife sanctuaries, zoos, and farms.

Boston Leadership Institute offers an immersive veterinary medicine program where you'll experience what it's like to be a veterinary student through hands-on practice, conducting all aspects of veterinary surgery, from securing and sedating mock patients to operating, suturing, and administering life-saving care. You'll master the basics of immunology, virology, and parasitic disease by diagnosing animal disorders from rabies to distemper, practicing well-dog check-ups, administering vaccinations, ordering and interpreting standard tests, and bringing anatomy to life by assembling and disassembling animal models. Students gain exposure to various veterinary subspecialties while working with models of pets like dogs and cats, domestic farm animals such as horses and cows, exotic animals, and even a CPR training dog for practicing emergency resuscitation techniques.
National Student Leadership Conference Summer Program: Veterinary Medicine

Loop Abroad: Thailand High School Pre-Vet Medicine

This program offers a two-week hands-on veterinary experience where high school students ages 14-18 learn and practice clinical skills at a dog shelter and spend a week volunteering with rescued elephants, working alongside a veterinarian dedicated to teaching while helping animals in need. You'll master clinical skills, including blood draws, suturing, skin scrapes, and assisting in spay and neuter surgeries at a dog clinic, then spend a full week living with and caring for rescued elephants, with evenings and weekends filled with fun activities like zip-lining and exploring street markets. No prerequisites or current school enrollment required, this program is open to aspiring veterinarians and animal care professionals of any nationality interested in working professionally with animals.
